The significant increase in interest in battery powered ground care equipment from public sector services such as grounds maintenance teams from local authorities, parks, gardens, hospitals and schools, is clear evidence of the benefits of reduced vibration from this equipment.

Faced with a rising tide of litigation from sufferers of white finger and other vibration causing conditions, major ground care users are turning in increasing numbers to battery power and shunning traditional petrol engines.

A quick online search will show that the problem is now so severe that the legal profession is increasingly offering specialist advice and services in this complex area of medical science.

“Maintenance teams have been talking to us in increasing numbers for more than 12 months as they identify the fact that our equipment vibrates at considerably lower levels than many of the petrol alternatives currently being used. In fact for most of our tools the vibration levels are under the 2.5m/s2 exposure action value limit (EAV) limit and well below the exposure limit value (ELV), allowing for all day use by a single operator,” says Steve Roskell, European marketing director for EGO.

“Coupled with the other benefits of EGO, like lower noise levels and zero emissions, our cordless products are increasingly being identified as the future of groundscare tools,” he adds.
